Advertising is getting on my last remaining nerves

I feel like I am teetering on the brink of sanity, and that my last nerves soon will kiss my sweet ass good-bye and squander off into oblivion.

Everywhere I turn I see advertising. On the street, on the bus, train, airplane, newspapers, magazines, internet-sites, etc. etc. etc...You all fucking know what I'm talking about.

And I've come to a conclusion why this bullcrap is getting on my nerves. I am too conscious about my surroundings and society in general. I let stuff get on my nerves because I am so aware of it. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that I would like to become more docile and stupid, so all this shit would pass me by without bothering me. But then again, do I want to become like all the other mind-less sheep out there who follow trends to the best of their abilities, does like everybody in their circle of platonic friends do, and become less intelligent on purpose, just to avoid advertising?

The answer is clearly no.

So what should happen is that everybody becomes like me, so that we all think alike on this subject-matter: Advertising is bullcrap, it is unnecessary and we don't need it? Do you think people will forget to put on clothing if they didn't have advertising telling them to buy new jeans? Do you think people would forget to eat if McDonalds stopped their crappy advertising campaigns or other food-chains would just cut the shit? Grocery stores wouldn't go outta business even if the didn't remind people that they need food and their place is the right place to get it.

Advertising is shit, and we all know it, deep down inside of us. But the people who are in advertising are greedy bastards who have an insatiable hunger for money, hookers, cocaine and expensive lifestyles, and thus, they will continue to advertise shit we don't need to us, and keep underestimating our intelligence.

Today, when I was downtown, I saw a marketing plot I've never seen the likes of earlier, and I bet this is the beginning of more to come. Outside a shitty shoe-store called "FeeT Me" there was posters for the store saying

"SALE - Don't think - Just Buy".

Am I the only one baffled about this?

That kind of marketing should be illegal, because what it does, essentially, is, that it is telling us to throw our capacity for critical thinking out the window and follow orders blindly, without using the voice of reason inside of us, which is telling us to ignore this horseshit and follow your own reasoning. And when this kinda of propaganda (propaganda is to democracy what violence is to a dictatorship) is legal and it is being ruthlessly shoved down our throats and up our asses day in, day out, and telling us to rid ourself of our better judgement, what happens is, is that we cave in to the pressure, because humans can only withstand so much, and then we become incapacitated consumers doing what we're told to, wearing what we're told to, listening to what we're told to and LIVING like we're told, and the assholes in advertising keep getting our hard earned money to buy more cocaine, hookers and expensice vacations.

Well, I am not going to cave in to this and wear Diesel Jeans "for successful living" (yeah, as if Diesel Clothing will make you successful), dye my hair blond, wear embellishments in my ears which looks like the fake jewelry that it is and listen to this and that music because it will make me cool and people will like me more, or at all, even. If that is people, then they can fuck off.

I don't need this.
